When I look back on my life and I think about all the experiences I have had and which ones are the most dear to me I think of my children and my grandchildren. All the memories that I hold dearest and closest to my heart are those that have you in them. And that is why I have decided to create this blog. This way, even when I'm not with you, I can share things I am doing and thinking and hopefully it will keep us more closely connected with everyone's busy schedule.
So here goes....
I woke up today wondering what kind of weekend you had and of course the first thing I did was log onto my computer to check my email and sure enough there was one from your Grandpa. It was only copied to me but I thought it was neat that he had responded to your "Beautiful Advice" email you had sent to me and him and several of your friends. It was very cool that he wrote how "beautiful you are on the inside and outside" and how much he "loved you". I thought that was really cool and it made me very happy to see such a warm and loving response from him. Even though we have been divorced for over 25 years I still regard him as a close friend and wonderful person. The fact that he has remarried a kind and compassionate woman who is very nice to me and who I really do like makes it so great at family get-togethers.
When I read his reply to your email I felt kind of bad that I hadn't responded better. It was only because I was replying to you and also a couple of your friends too (Lauren and Sydney) that I toned my normally mushy response down. :)
BTW I first received that beautiful email from Auntie Dana and had been meaning to pass it on but just hadn't gotten around to it yet. So I guess I kind of quickly sent it out trying to omit the email addys of people I didn't know. There were two Laurens so I guess I got her in one of them for sure. I wish Jack had an email address so I could write him too.
I didn't do much this past weekend. We (me and Robert) stayed at home and we went swimming for a little while Saturday and Sunday. Last night while we were in the pool there was a gentle little rain. It was kind of nice in a way. We were singing "Swimming in the Rain" and "Raindrops keep Falling on my Head". LOL It didn't last long and then it stopped. I wondered if you were out at your pool.
Last weekend hanging out with you was so much fun! It's amazing how much cooler the water temperature is where you live. And the view is so much better.
There are so many things to be excited about right now. For one, Tarryl just got an endorsement from the Minnesota Police and Peace Keepers Association. That's a really big thing and Robert is very excited over it. So am I. Saturday night we watched her speaking from Netroots Nation in Las Vegas. She was fabulous. We are really pulling for her to get elected!
Tonight we're going to watch an old Sandra Bullock movie. "Miss Congeniality II". It looks like it will be really cute and funny. I love Sandra Bullock.
Well, I guess that's enough for my first blog.
I love you!!!
